There are also two events that your kids might enjoy checking out:

On the birthday of Ignacio Allende, who led the town to independence, kids march and sing through the streets, typically dressed in their customary blue and white school uniforms. This fiesta is complete with parades and fireworks in Allende's honor.

During the first day of spring, children dress up as bumblebees and butterflies and march with their teachers around a parade float containing a costumed, miniature king and queen, prince and princess.
